buck pool

ante

the current established ante amount is $25.00.

 

to qualify for the buck pool, participants' shall submit the current established ante for the current year.

 

returning participants that missed prior years shall submit the current established ante amount multiplied by the number of years they missed since their original ante.

rookies to the buck pool shall submit their original ante equal to the carryover buck pool total divided by the returning number of participants plus the current established ante for the current year.

 

payouts

The buck pool pays out for three, four point or larger legal bucks.

  • 50% to the largest legal buck by points

  • 25% to the second largest legal buck by points

  • 25% to the third largest legal buck by points

in the event there are two bucks of equal points, the heaviest buck by weight will be the tie breaker.

Max payout for a participant is 50% of the buck pool.

 

carryover

all funds not paid out will carryover to next years buck pool.

Poker

The standard rules of Poker apply where applicable and not superseded by the specific rules provided below. These rules are absolute and not up for debate or negotiation.

 

Cheating of any kind is strictly prohibited and punishable by expulsion and public shaming.

New games may be submitted to The Admiral for approval. If, and only if that game is approved may it be played.

 

ante

All players shall a two chip ante at the beginning of each hand. Any player that has not submitted an ante as the the cards are being dealt shall forfeit their turn and submit their ante into the pot. 

 

Dealing

Staring each new round of play, the Dealer shall be decided by dealing cards face up to each player until the first Jack is revealed. The player with the first Jack is the assigned the first deal. The deal shall move to the left following each game. Stealing the deal is prohibited. 

The Dealer chooses the game from the Approved Games provided above. 

If the Dealer deals a card off the playing surface, the Dealer shall ante one chip equal to the amount for cards dealt off the playing surface. 

Betting

Betting will start with one chip unless there is a pair or better showing, then players may bet two chips. Only three raises are permitted. Any player that checks shall not re-raise another raiser. Raises follow the same single and double chip rules stated above. If it is the last round of betting in the hand, a player may elect to bet two chips even if there is no pair or better showing. 

Any player submitting a bet into play and splashes their chip, or chips off the playing surface shall submit a penalty equal to the amount of chips that fall off the playing surface. 

any player not paying attention due to distractions by technology, called out by another player, and sentenced by the admiral, shall submit a one chip penalty into the pot. 

For all games with a high and low winner, the player with the winning high hand shall divide the pot into two piles. The player with the winning low hand then chooses which pile they like. 

 

Aces

An Ace is the highest single card in all games except High/Low. When playing High/Low, an Ace may be used as a One. 

 

Blukis

one joker shall be added to the standard 52 card deck called the Blukis. The Blukis is only good in a hand when used as an Ace in a pair or more of Aces, or a wild card when used in a straight or flush.

The Blukis cannot be used in any low hand. If you have the Blukis in your hand while playing Remus, you must Declare high.

winning hands

The cards in play shall determine the winner even if the player can not identify their own winning hand due to incompetence. Winning Hands in order of highest to lowest are provided below.
